Oak-Aged Wee Heavy Style Ale

With its nutty and caramel notes, Scotland’s Wee Heavy ale is an ideal style to make into your winter beer. Our friends from Kansas City, MO — Boulevard Brewing Company — know that fact only too well. Their Snow & Tell is a Wee Heavy replete with toffee and caramel flavors complimented by peat-smoked malts. Though Boulevard turns to Magnum, Chinook, and Styrian Goldings hops for bitterness, it’s a light turn as malt is what this brew is about — that and the oak and vanilla notes from the oak aging.  Try some.
