Technically, Doppelbocks should be spring beers as legend has them created for Lent. However, Starr Hill dips into the style for its perennial winter seasonal, Snow Blind. The Snow Blind is a Doppelbock made with 2-Row, Munich, Carafa, and Caramunich malts and the German Perle hop. A full-bodied lager, look for roasted malt flavors and even dark fruit notes to go with the brown sugar/caramel you’d expect. And whether you get Black Sabbath or Styx stuck in your head thinking of this beer, it’ll be worth it when you’re drinking this beer.
