Beer of the Week - June 5 - June 12

Google says “Tropikos” is Greek for “turn,” rotate,” “whirl,” or “twiddle.” Waynesboro’s Basic City says “Tropikos” is the name they’ve given to a series of beers that feature new hop profiles. Version 002 features Simcoe and Amarillo hops on top of a dry malt bed. Calling this brew a Double IPA, Basic City opts to pull the citrus and pine flavors out of the hops over pulling out their bitterness. With this brew, Basic City is really making their mark with Double IPAs.
