Beer of the Week 8/21/18d

Allagash Curieux Bourbon Barrel Aged Tripel
Regularly $16.99/On Sale for $14.96
In 2004, Allagash founder Rob Tod had just acquired some Jim Beam bourbon barrels. In a moment of abandon he was “curious” to see what would happen if he aged their Tripel in it. What he stumbled onto has become one of the more beloved craft beers. Today, the Allagash Curieux still starts with the Tripel spending seven weeks in Jim Beam barrels. It’s then blended with un-bourboned Tripel. The combination delivers hints of coconut and vanilla with a slight bourbon taste left to tickel the tongue. After years in big bottles, it’s now in four packs.
