You don’t always have to go hard to hit one home. With the Lethe, Virginia Beach’s Commonwealth Brewing Company succeeds through restraint. This American Pale Ale doesn’t try to sneak into IPA Land through the back door. It has an eminently reasonable bitterness followed by a soft finish. Additionally, it boasts a beautiful, juicy, citrusy aroma due, not only, to dry-hopping but also to the addition of lupulin powder. Try a four pack or a 16oz can of this brew and forget about taste bud busting IPAs for a while.
