Earl Grey Brown Ale

English Style Brown Ale with Earl Grey Tea

Richmond’s Ardent Brewing Company, our very own Champion Brewing Company and our very own Potter’s Craft Cider have an annual tradition of collaborating together. This modified English style Brown Ale is this year’s joint turn. To the off-dry nuttiness of the English Brown, the Earl Grey introduces Bergamot flavors and a slight tea astringency on the finish. Cannily chosen citrus hops brighten up the mixture. (Obviously, they take their Earl Grey not with milk but lemon.) Overall, Earl Grey is an inspired and well-appreciated addition to the classic English Brown.
