Big good deal!

In the dialect of this part of the Piedmont, “Sulin” means sunny, and the vineyards of the Fracchia Family certainly deserve this appellation, thanks to their southward location, on hilltops or along rounded hills, fully exposed to the heat of the sun.

Brothers Mauro & Fabio Fracchia, 4th generation winemakers, produce unique wines from traditional Piemontese grapes. They also produce Chardonnay, which is surprisingly prevalent in the Piedmont. This Piedmont D.O.C. Chardonnay is a great example of the kind of crisp, clean style available in northern Italy. The grapes are gently pressed, then transferred to a large (2,500 liter!) barrel made of locally-harvested oak, where it is slowly fermented at a controlled temperature. The wine then rests on the lees to extract depth of flavor without having to bulk up with new oak.

Light enough to be enjoyed on its own, but a great accompaniment to fall dishes. This is a great deal on a delicious Chardonnay. Try one, we think you’ll call us back to buy more!
