Triple New England Style IPA

It takes a brave brewer to make a Triple IPA, and frequently it takes a braver beer fan to drink one. However, before you dive for shelter from “Bitter Bombs,” keep in mind that Väsen Brewing Company’s Ragnarakau (from Richmond) is a triple New England Style IPA. That means it’s triple everything you like in an NEIPA.

Are you enjoying beers being unfiltered? Well, “hazy” doesn’t even begin to cover it! Think of the Ragnarakau as soupy, like fog on the mountain. Do you like those New Zealand hops? The Ragnarakau is loaded in with Nelson Sauvin hops, Rakau hops, and the Not-From-New-Zealand-But-Fruit-Notes-Hop-King Mosaic hops. There’s a vibrant pineyness to the aroma and a whirlpool of spicy mango, melon, and even peach notes on the palate. Seriously, this beer has a juicy enough core that you’ll look for pulp in the glass.

We don’t quite get the name, because the Ragnarakau is far from the end of the world. It’s more the beginning of a deep dive into NEIPA intensity!
