New England Style IPA

We always try to keep an eye on variety with our Beers of Week. For instance, we just offered you a New England Style IPA this past week, so usually we would avoid featuring one this week. However, when we tasted Väsen’s new NEIPA (from Richmond), we threw such concerns out the window.

On the plain of Ókólnir stands the beer-hall of the jötunn (giant) Brimir. “Ókólnir” translates to “Uncold,” as the plain is always lush and verdant and never frozen. Here, good men of pure heart, after they die, can go and drink with the jötnar.

Here’s what Väsen says about the Okolnir. “… 6.5 [ABV] — Grab a pour of this juicy, tropical IPA and imagine yourself in Okolnir ... Motueka, Citra, and Azacca hops contribute aromas of ripe mango, pineapple and grapefruit, while Norwegian farmhouse kveik yeast add flavors of peach and tangerine.”

If there’s a giant sized mug of this beer waiting for us, we might just gladly trade in our halos!
