Proemio “Tupã” Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Regularly $14.99/On Sale for $10.96

Proemio means “prologue” in old medieval Spanish, and Marcelo Bocardo, third generation winemaker and the descendant of a traditional Italian immigrant family, believes that his winery is just the beginning of a new kind of winemaking in Argentina. Marcelo founded his family winery in 2001 as part of a movement away from over-farmed, highly-oaked reds, and towards organic, sustainable farming, and more expression of fruit and terroir. Tupã is a label created in collaboration with Salveto Imports. The grapes are grown in Proemio’s Maipu vineyards, hand-picked and manually sorted. The winery is gravity-fed in order to treat both grapes and juice as gently as possible.

This is an inexpensive but not insubstantial Cab, varietally correct, with soft, velvety tannins. Honestly just a delicious Argentinian red at a delicious price. Try this out as your house wine for a week or two!
