Winemaker Pedro Ribeiro and his wife Catarina Vieira moved to Vidigueira in the Alentejano
wine region of Portugal to make wine with a focus on traditional practices. Many of the wines they make are fermented in open top Talha (amphora) and the wine is protected from oxidation by a thin layer of olive oil poured on top. Their Alentejano Tinto is one of their most approachably priced wines and meant to pair easily with a wide range of foods for casual drinking. It is fermented in concrete tanks and aged in second use french oak. Like all the Bojador wines it comes from organic vineyards, is fermented with native yeasts, and gets a light hand in the winemaking to reflect very clearly the indigenous grapes and the land on which they are grown.
