Dewey Sunset Eclipse

$8.99 for the 16oz four-pack
Stout

Dewey Beer Company is in Dewey Beach, Delaware on the coastal highway — a block from the Atlantic Ocean. They started in 2015 intending to make the kind of beers that they liked drinking. At the time, those were IPAs and sours. Here, with the Dewey Sunset Eclipse, they’ve either branched out or are showing another side of their tastes.

Someone just walked into the store looking for a decent stout that wasn’t going to be huge and overwhelming. We took them right to this baby. The Sunrise Eclipse is as light-bodied as a Dry Irish Stout with quite a different flavor profile. It features bright cherry notes with a light coffee acidity on the finish.

As you would expect, coming from a seaside brewpub (or even from the main production facility a little farther inland in Harberson), the Sunset Eclipse makes it as a great food beer. Think of having it with burgers or meatloaf or with a big plate of steak fries. Yum!
