Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail with Mango and Orange

$15.99 for the 12oz four-pack cans
Triple IPA with Mango and Orange

Evil Twin has put a twist on an old favorite.

Evil Twin first brewed the Molotov Cocktail a decade ago. It’s a Triple IPA, what Evil Twin calls their “biggest IPA ever.” Now, the thing with Triple IPAs is that you have so many hops added to them that you have to balance them with a crap ton of malt. So, while you expect a lot of hop flavor, you also get a hefty (usually sweet) malt backbone holding them down.

It’s just like Evil Twin to make something that should be so big go down so easily. There’s this nice sweet, malt backbone that you expect, and on top of it, Evil Twin piles on the hops — Cascade, Citra, Ariana, and Sabro.

Excitedly, we knew little about the Ariana hop before this beer. Developed by the Huell Hop Research Center in Germany, the Ariana hop was first released to the market in 2016, only acquiring its name in 2020. It’s a bittering hop that produces low, dark fruity notes, which you can definitely taste here, joining with the others to barrel along like a chariot race.

Sliding right into the fray is the orange and, the inspired, mango, complementing the hop profile and tilting the whole cavalcade into surprising drinkability. You want your juicy IPA? Well, Evil Twin has your juice right here!
