Oh, what the Citra hop hath wrought!

Okay, so get ready to skip down the beer-bit hole a little.

One of the first beers that the Veil released after its opening in 2016 was a Citra Hazy IPA called Broze Day Off. About a year later, the Veil released their imperial version, Broze Night Out. Somewhere in there were other imperials — the Broz Broz Day Day and the Broz Broz Night Night, the Broz Night Out: Enhanced, and probably some other versions we’re missing. Anyway, these proud ancestors have led us to our current incarnation … the Weekend at Broznies! (What can we say? Those Broz get around.)

Weekend at Broznies takes the Broz Night Out — the imperial version of the original hazy Citra IPA — and adds pineapple purée to it. We love a pineapple IPA, so they had us there … and it’s a good call. The pineapple is subtle, seamlessly merging with the citrus of the Citra, each of them balancing the other one out. The pineapple provides (surprise, surprise) a touch of fruit while the Citra hops give you zest — both of those on top of an off-dry malt base. The gestalt is a powerfully juicy, hazy, double IPA.
