Five Reasons to Do a Kölsch and Kentucky Tasting
As people go gaga for Goses (that lacto-laced looniness from Leipzig), another German regional style is being overlooked. We’re talking about that Kraftiness from Köln, the Kölsch.
Like many German beers, Kölsches feature herbal hops that discreetly provide flavor, considering it rude and ostentatious to stand out.
Kölsches also feature a unique grapiness to the malt which can give their taste just enough depth for colder weather while leaving them refreshing enough when the sun blazes.
Coming back to the States, one of our Kentucky breweries is Against the Grain, and, true to their name, they have some of the most abrasive packaging we've ever seen. However ... the beer is good. The only way you're going to know that is through a tasting.
In fact, they're all good!
