Friday Featured Wines

In addition to our wines of the week, we will be featuring a few wines each week, starting Friday afternoon and going through the weekend or as long as supplies last.  This is to, in some way, honor the rhythm of our Friday tastings, as well as to feature specific selections form our distributor/importer partners each week.

Standard "Friday Tasting" discounts will be applied.

This week we have two classic varietals from the Loire, one of our favorite wine regions!  These selections are from hometown heroes: Williams Corner Wine.  Williams Corner (founded in the cellar of decades-long shop friends Michael and Jill Williams) is an incredible but hidden jewel in Charlottesville.  MANY of the fascinating wines you encounter in the restaurants and shops here have been brought to our town by the very good folks at Williams Corner.  With the devastation of our restaurant industry, Williams Corner has lost a majority of their business.  We are doing what we can to help keep them afloat - help us if you can!

Michel Langlois Coteaux du Giennois Sauvignon Les Charmes
Catherine and Michel Langlois's winery is just down the road from Sancerre, and this quite-new appellation (created in 1998)  is the home to some real sleeping values.  100% Organic Sauvignon Blanc - one of our favorite food white wines!
$19.99/ On Sale Friday for $17.99

Domaine des Pothiers Côte Roannaise Domaine Rouge
From another tiny and somewhat obscure appellation in the Loire comes this finely structured Gamay.  Biodynamically farmed old vines, semi-carbonic fermentation, unfiltered, unfined, unbeatable as luscious bistro red.  Perfect for Spring!
$19.99/ On Sale Friday for $17.99
