Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España
The Spanish town of Haro sits between mountain ranges in the very northwest corner of the Rioja province in north central Spain. In 1879, the Real de Asua brothers began making wine there in their district’s train station. They named their company Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España and labeled their wines with the company’s initials, C.V.N.E.
Five generations later, the same family sits over eight wineries, making everything from everyday table wines to artisanal vino in Rioja, Penedés, Ribera del Duero, Valdeorras, and Rías Baixas.
