Virginia Beers

We don’t care what you say, Virginia is a craft beer state!

According to DC’s WTOP News, between 2012 and 2022, the number of craft breweries in Virginia, DC, and Maryland grew by 402%. Virginia, alone, has over 350 registered craft breweries (with about half of them outside of DC). In their 2023 stats, the Brewer’s Association ranked us as 16th in a list of breweries per capita by state … but size is just a crowler! It’s quality that matters!

Sure, Virginia’s not a famous craft beer state like Oregon, California, Colorado, or Vermont, but we here at Market St. Wine are proud of VA beer. The state has a varied craft beer scene with a number of breweries focusing on beers ranging from the trendy to the exotic, from farm breweries to urban brewpubs, from home brewers making pro brewskis to business broskis looking to develop a market intrusive brand that will synergize with a growing destination hospitality concern. In any case (or most cases), we are pleased by the beers of theirs that we can get our mugs on.
