Our new wine of the week is
Cantele Salice Salentino

It looks like we are having a-Puglia party! With the addition of this red from Salice Salentino, both of our wines of the week hail from the Puglia region of Italy. This delicious rich wine is made from the grape Negroamaro which is grown almost exclusively in this part of Italy. Originally called Niuru Maru (“black bitter” or possibly “black black”), the grape is thought to have arrived with the greeks in the seventh century BC. This wine is full of candied red fruits with a bit of earthy-ness. It is so juicy and delicious, with finesse and just the right touch of structure. Cantele Salice Salentino is an old favorite that tastes even better than we remember. Enjoy.
