A word about the recent tariffs
Dear Friends,
With so much happening in every news cycle, you may not have heard about the current administration's 25% tariffs that went into effect on Oct 18th on many wines and foods from European countries.
These tariffs will have an impact on the pricing that you see at your local shops. We are already beginning to see the increases now as new wines arrive in the U.S.
As is often the case, these tariffs will have the biggest impact on the smallest wine regions, the small and family producers, and the small local shops.
Almost all of the wines on our shelves are purchased from small importers/distributors with whom we have long standing relationships. These companies have direct and personal relationships with the producers in their portfolio, many of whom have visited us here in the shop. We have all been working together to mitigate, as much as possible, the effect of these tariffs. We feel a responsibility to protect you, our customers, while not abandoning the incredibly hard-working women and men who make our wine.
We will be adjusting our inventory as needed to maintain our commitment to having wines at every price point and for every budget.
No matter what the price, we only stock wines that we feel offer exceptional value; that will continue with or without tariffs.
Thank you for shopping local!
