We continue our run of extraordinary wines from Abruzzo! Vini La Quercia (a type of beautiful oak tree that grows on the property) is a winery run by four friends who first met while working for a large commercial winery. ln 2000, they decided to launch out on their own and took over a small winery called La Quercia, located near the massive Gran Sasso National Park in Abruzzo. Winemaker Antonio Lamona cultivates his vines organically on the entirely self-sustaining farm. The La Quercia farm also produces vegetables, cured meats, cheeses and olive oil. This classic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a perfect match for any of those foods, but is smooth enough to enjoy by itself! Get some while it lasts!
