“Roto” was a derogatory name for a Chilean peasant, but has long been reclaimed to refer to a scrappy, honest, heroic man of the people. This (largely) Cabernet is definitely a wine of the people: full-blooded, rustic, made for food and dancing in the street with friends. Made by the producer of one of our favorite Chilean Pipeños, Viña Maitia, is produced with organic practices and native yeasts. 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah, 3% Alicante Bouchet. A lot of wine for twelve bucks.
