Wine of the Week 4/23/19
Ze Becco Montepulciano D’Abruzzo 2016
Regularly $10.99/On sale for $8.96
An old shop favorite at an unmissable price! A special cuvée curated by and bottled for wine importer Emanuele Gaiarin with the expertise of Marche winemakers Moncarro. The Moncarro Cooperative Society was founded at the hands of a group of winemakers with the desire to enhance their production and that of the entire area in 1964. Six years later the cantina and facility was constructed and the first vinification was done in 1971. This Montepulciano from vines 10-30 years old is cultivated with organic practices, hand-harvested, and aged partially in oak, and partially in steel. Is there any better affordable Italian red for porch-sipping and grill-accompanying? Now is the time to find out!
