Beer of the Week! 10/06/20
Skipping Rock NEIPA
Regularly $15.99 / Now on Sale for $14.96
New England Style IPA
We’d like to welcome a new face into our beer neighborhood. By now you may have noticed that the old Hardywood digs on West Main Street has been taken over by a crew from the West. Well, if you’ve yet to try out their beers, here’s your chance.
Only a couple of years old, Skipping Rock Beer Company was co-founded by a businessman and is run by an ex-cop and ex-marine. Touting values of “family, fun, and freedom,” they’ve reached out from their place a mile west of Staunton to drop an expeditionary force here in Charlottesville armed with their core lineup.
The NEIPA is just what its no-nonsense name promises. It’s a New England Style IPA in which head brewer Ben Mullett coaxes out a dry citrus juiciness from Citra and Galaxy hops with Kohatu hops providing a fresh, piney aroma. Coming in at a modest 6.6 ABV, the NEIPA is a beer made for return visits from your waitron or to your fridge.
Bonus Beer of the Week (‘Cause we all need a little something special right now.)
