The Cantele estate is a third-generation family-owned and run winery founded by the current generation's grandparents, immigrants from the north who settled in Puglia after WWII.

This delicious rich wine is made from the grape Negroamaro which is grown almost exclusively in this part of Italy. Originally called Niuru Maru (“black bitter” or possibly “black black”), the grape is thought to have arrived with the greeks in the seventh century BC. This wine is full of candied red fruits with a bit of earthy-ness. Cantele Salice Salentino is an old favorite that tastes even better every time we try it. Dive away the cold with this southern Italian classic!
