Firestone Walker Flyjack
Unfiltered IPA
Regularly $10.99 / Now on sale for $9.96
The recent New England Style IPA craze has birthed a spin-off treatment for IPAs. Where NEIPAs are unfiltered IPAs with hops (mostly from Australia and New Zealand) that impart tropical fruit flavors, now you can get unfiltered or “hazy” IPAS with other hops — most notably good old fashioned West Coast hops. That’s what we have here in Firestone Walker’s lower calorie, lower carbohydrate, lower ABV IPA, Flyjack.
2-Row and Munich malts blend with wheat malt and oats producing a light, dry malt backbone. Then it’s Cascade and Callista hops in the kettle for some crisp citrus and pine notes before we get to Strata, Mosaic, Chinook, and Sabro for dry-hopping. The result is an understandably light-bodied IPA with a refreshing, citrusy hop character — only 96 calories and 4.0 % ABV.
