Sour IPA with Pineapple

It’s good to know the queen!

We’ve already gone down on record saying we love a good pineapple IPA. Well, someone at Rosedale, MD’s DuClaw Brewing Company must have heard us. The Pineapple Queen is a challenge of balance. Fortunately, DuClaw has shown that it can tame strong flavors into very drinkable beers.

First they make an IPA with London Ale III Yeast and lactose, bittered with Mosaic Lupulin Powder to intensify all the hop flavors that Mosaic provides. They then sour the beer with Lactobacillus bacteria while fermenting it on top of pineapple.

So if you’ve been keeping track, that’s sour and sweet and tart and tropical citrus and hard and soft, and it’s all together in one beer. Yeah, we had to try it too.
