Beer of the Week! 04/15/20
Basic City Gilded Rose
Regularly $10.99 / Now on Sale for $9.96
Fruit Golden Ale
You can still find those German Purity Law beers -- those beers made just from malt, water, yeast, and hops. If you want to fly your purity flag that way, you can go there. However, it's just the fact that craft brewing today is about experimenting with so much more.
In that line, Waynesboro's Basic City (known to us for their great New England Style IPAs) has come out with a massively tweaked golden ale. The Gilded Rose is an easy-drinking, smooth golden ale that has been imbued with the power of lime, pineapple, agave, and blackberry! And somehow Basic City manages to bring all those tastes in without losing smoothness.
Oh, and one thing about playing with adjuncts instead of malts and hops is that you can pile 'em on without necessarily affecting the strength of your beer. Case in point, the Gilded Rose comes in at a passable 4.7% ABV -- giving all the beauty with very little thorn.
Bonus Beer of the Week!! (‘Cause we all need a little something special right now.)
