Sandro De Bruno Soave 2018

Regularly $17.99/On Sale for $12.96

If you grew up in the 70’s (as some of us may have, ahem.), Soave was one of those indicators of culinary sophistication and romance. At one point, sales of Soave surpassed even Chianti in the U.S. Of course, as we got older, we realized that these wines were produced in VAST quantities, and to less than high standards, so Soave became associated with grocery store wines, and gradually faded from menus and the wine press. But Soave, a region in the Veneto in northern Italy, existed long before the 70s, and has worked hard to change its reputation since. While much of the bulk wine produced was grown in the flat plains, the very best Soave is produced from hillier, volcanic soils. That is the case with this gem from Sandro De Bruno. Sandro Tasoniero is the third-generation (his father is Bruno) of a winemaking family who have always farmed and produced in the Soave region.

Made from 100% Garganega (also known as Grecanico in Sicily). This grape has been traced back to at least the 13th century, but may have Etruscan origins. Organically grown and hand harvested. Beautiful, fragrant, minerally white to accompany your every summer meal.
