Beer of the Week! 07/21/20
Bingo / North American Sake Company Dry Crispy
Regularly $9.99 / Now on Sale for $8.96
Rice Lager Made with Sake Rice
Bingo Beer Company sits in Richmond right off of the Museum District, a few blocks south of Väsen, Ardent, the Veil, and Isley brewing companies. Not only does their brewpub offer tasty subs and wings to go with their beers, they also have a classic arcade complete with pinball machines, ping pong, Skee Ball, and video games. (Put a pin in that fact for whenever / if ever the world returns to normal.)
Their Dry Crispy is a collaboration with Chef Adam Hall from Richmond's Saison Restaurant and also with our own North American Sake Company. The three have fashioned a rice lager that, instead of being brewed with regular old rice, is brewed with sake rice, with Hüell Melon and Lemondrop hops bringing the “crispy.” What they’ve gotten is the tastiest rice lager we’ve tried. Whereas other rice lagers are very clean and thin, the Dry Crispy has more character to its taste.
Don’t be fooled by the classic look of the cans, this beer is an example of fine craftsmanship.
Bonus Beer of the Week (‘Cause we all need a little something special right now.)
Flying Dog Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale
Regularly $11.99 / Now on Sale for $9.96
Golden Ale with Old Bay Seasoning
“Our most-piloted beer to date is brewed with the rugged spirit of the Chesapeake Bay watermen. Born in the heart of crab country, Dead Rise started as a gose, highlighting the bold spiciness of Maryland’s most beloved culinary staple: OLD BAY seasoning. Over the years, Dead Rise has evolved into an easy-drinking blonde ale, perfect for backyard BBQs, deck parties, and sunny summer days drifting aimlessly on the water in a speedboat that’s run out of gas. The combination of lemon peel and Cascade and Citra hops make this beer the perfect sidekick for seafood, seafood, seafood, and also seafood.” - Flying Dog Brewing Company
