The name Entre-Deux-Mers comes not from mers, the word for seas, but marées, meaning tides. The Garonne and Dordogne are the two tidal rivers that enclose Bordeaux’s largest wine region to the south and north, respectively. It’s home to some of France’s most delicious and affordable white wines.
The estate has been in the Roumage family since the 19th century, and current winemaker Estelle Roumage is at the forefront of environmentally sound winemaking practices in Bordeaux, with a commitment to both winemaking excellence and sustainability. This Bordeaux Blanc is a perfect example of what the region has to offer, a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 19%, Sauvignon Gris, 6% Semillon, and 5%, Muscadelle, this wine is as comfortable on the formal dinner table as it is in the picnic hamper. An excellent end of summer, beginning of fall wine. Sadly, this wine is leaving the market, a casualty of the many stresses on the wine industry this year, so this will be your last chance to get it. Don’t miss it!
