Vignamatto Rosso Piceno 2019

Regularly $11.99/On Sale for $8.96!

One final Italian mega-deal to mark the end of summer!

This part of the Marche wine region, on the Adriatic coast, is know for its white wine made from the Verdicchio grape. But most producers also grow some Montepulciano and some Sangiovese, and combine them into one of Italy’s greatest and most friendly everyday wines: the Rosso Piceno.

Umberto Ceci began growing grapes here in the 40s, and the estate has passed down through the family to the current, fourth-generation, siblings: Alessandra, Andrea and Francesco. The reputation of the estate grew with each generation; first nationally, and then internationally, driven primarily by the great value of their Verdicchio.

This Rosso Piceno is 75% Montepulciano, and 25% Sangiovese, both grown in clay soils, hand-harvested, and elaborated in stainless steel for maximum freshness. Delicious straight out of the bottle, we found it actually improved even more the second day! The colder weather will bring wines of a little more weight, so if you like having a light, gluggable red around the house (at a nearly unheard-of price!) then load up on this one. Supplies are limited, so don’t wait too long!
