I Lauri, Terre di Chieti Sangiovese Salto
Regularly $11.99/On sale for $9.96
(100% Sangiovese)

The vineyards that grow this Sangiovese are located 985 feet above sea level in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Chieti is steeped in history and mythology and its capital city (also called Cheti) is said to have been founded by Achilles and named for his mother Thetis. It is located next to the Adriatic sea and enjoys a mediterranean climate. Though, we prefer to think it is the residual mojo of ancient Greek gods (or semi gods) that make the grapes grow so well. These particular grapes are grown on calcareous soils by a sustainability minded producer that uses 100% renewable energy, zero irrigation, careful waste management, and community and employee support. Named for the famous lake of the Abruzzo region, this Sangiovese is vinified in stainless steel and aged in large Slovenian Barrels. It is full of plump, lush, red fruits and is a versatile red for a whole range of weeknight meals.
