Beer of the Week! 02/08/22
This week, some beers with bite!
Bingo Bless Your Heart
Regularly $11.99 / Now on Sale for 10.96
Belgian Style Pale Ale (Blonde Ale) with Peppercorns
Richmond’s Bingo Beer Company was clearly feeling a bit sassy when they whipped this sucker up. Of course they made it tasty (‘cause that’s what they do), but they did not make it easy to drink. You’re not going to snooze in the middle of this glass.
The Bless Your Heart started as a Belgian Style Blonde Ale — mild, calm — but then Bingo shook things up a bit. First they dry-hopped (and hopped?) it with Mandarina Bavaria hops — leaning on that hop lever to make sure a bunch of those citrusy and fruity hops tumbled in. Next (as if the hop strategy wasn’t enough), they “gently” sprinkled the mix with green peppercorns. (We know!)
This beer is all about being spicy and zippy — from the peppercorns, from the hops, even from the Belgian yeast. Think of it more as a Blonde Ale merged with a Pilsner. We think this brew is just dying to be a food beer. Try it with your Chinese or Thai takeout!
Bonus Beer of the Week (‘Cause it takes two sets of teeth to get a good bite!)
Reason Inexorable
Regularly $13.99 / Now on Sale for $12.96
Stout
If you like smooth, rich, chocolaty stouts, then Reason’s longtime offering, the Inexorable is NOT the beer for you. Reason likes to give their stouts and porters some kick!
Even though, seven (Count ‘em, SEVEN!) malts go into the making of this beer, Reason makes sure that each one is balanced (if not overcome) with piney, citrusy hops. The Inexorable is a stout that delivers notes of dark cocoa and black coffee — no cream!
In fact, it’s very easy to think of the Inexorable as a Double Black IPA rather than a stout. So all hop heads, heads up — your stout is back!
