Borgo Paglinetto was founded in 2008 on 28 hectares in the Alta Valle dell' Esino in the Marche region. It is an organic winery (both the vineyard and the cellar) situated in a valley in the hills of Matellica. The Matellica DOC is overshadowed somewhat by its more famous neighbor Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and it is known to make a slightly sharper/fresher version of Verdicchio. Just the thing for these swampy dog days in Virginia. The Terravignata is fermented and refined in stainless steel tanks and gets 2 months of age in the bottle before release. It is a lovely balanced white with a bit of floral notes to go along with its crisp fruits. We feel refreshed just thinking about it.
