Bosman Family Vineyards (the producer of last week's feature as well) is a winery expanding their definition of sustainability into labor and community concerns, not just ecological ones. This is a trend that we are excited to see growing in the wine industry. The people working to make Bosman wines are employed year round and in 2009 a 26% stake in the business was transferred to a workers trust. The winery and the trust are sponsoring projects in sports, education, healthcare, transportation and more. This Shiraz, also made by Natasha Williams, has plump plum and bramble fruits and a portion of the wine is aged in new french oak. This is exactly the kind of red wine to have on hand for February evenings.
