Diogenes hanging out with pals in his wine-cask home.
The ancient Greeks didn't drink wine with meals, instead saving it for the Symposia where the conversation was always elevated and philosophical. Or so the men (it was ALL men) claimed. We have learned much from the ancients, but we are also happy to learn from modern Greeks who have realized their wines are too good to not enjoy at any time, with food or without.
Even if you live in a wine cask like Diogenes (see above illustration) come on down to the cellar on Friday and get up-to-date on some truly delicious Greek wines.
