Costers Del Sió La Boscana 2018
Regularly $14.99/On Sale for $12.96
The county of Urgell, in Catalonia, was established by the Franks when the area became part of the Carolingian Empire in the late 700s. They may have first planted vineyards here, and for centuries, the counts of Urgell grew grapes and other crops here, on the very land that Costers Del Sió now occupy. These days, winemaker Maria Mendoza Ráfales cultivates all her vines organically, as they were grown for centuries. The grapes are hand picked between August and September at only the coolest times of the day. This blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Viognier has a taste that is greater than the sum of its grapes: fresh and delicious, with a little mystery and spice. "La Boscana" is a Catalan term to denote a vast expanse of forest. The name evokes nature, open air, relaxation, and fun. Apt, we think! A great wine with which to stock your fridge!
