Evan Lewandowski is the winemaker/owner behind Ruth Lewandoski wines.Lewandowski selects fruit from various vineyards in Mendocino, the Sierra Foothills, and Cole Ranch with whom he has a personal connection. These are incredibly thoughtfully sourced and vinified wines and the two we feature here have the added charm of being gluggable and joyous. We don’t have many left but wanted to highlight these as the perfect choice for your weekend socializing.
Ruth Lewandowski Foxhill Rosé 2021 Regularly $30.99/On sale for $27.89
"2021 is a pink puzzle, a wide array of pieces fitting together just so, until the larger very familiar picture comes into focus. Building upon our previous vintages' aromas, flavors and textural signatures of the deeper Portuguese varieties we have come to know and love, the majority of this wine remains Touriga Nacional, Souzao and Tinta Roriz. However, we've peppered in a smattering of other deliciously appropriate ingredients such as Trousseau (ahem, Bastardo in Portugal) a few skin fermented whites and even a skosh of lightly macerated Zinfandel (GASP!). This vintage is ever the more herbal and savory side of pink wine but still has gobs of bright, poppy, almost tropical fruit to it, keeping things juicy and thirst quenching as hell." -the winery
Ruth Lewandowski Foxhill Feints
Carbonic Co-ferment 2021 Regularly $30.99/On sale for 27.89
"Vintage 2021 was a remarkably low-yielding year in many of our prized Mendocino vineyards. As a result, we got über creative, seeking out a few new and incredibly intriguing fruit opportunities, marrying a dizzying array of carbonic reds and whites to support and highlight the Piemontese varieties we’ve all come to know and love with this one. Of course, the vast majority of the blend remains the beloved Fox Hill Vineyard Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo in a carbonic co-ferment. If you’re a die hard Feints lover, fear not. This one is frighteningly fresh bright and altogether Feints through and through. I really hope someone wrote down what we did with this one so we can do it again!" -the winery
