Garofoli was originally founded by Antonio Garofoli in Loreto in the mid 19th century as an inn to serve the Christian pilgrims who traveled there to visit the Basilica della Santa Casa. In 1871 he began making wines to offer in his inn. Garofoli is now on it’s 4th and 5th generations and (after expanding into commercial production just after World War II) has 128 acres of vineyards in the Marche. Multiple of their wines have won Tre Bicchieri and we were delighted by this fresh Verdicchio that is perfect for summer. Lovely fruit and mineralty and just the thing to have on hand in quantity over these next few months.
